YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY WORDS I HAVE WRITTEN ON THIS BEFORE! BUT EACH TIME I HAVE TO REWRITE IT COS IT'S DIFFERENT AHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Okay, canon Mukuro and Aather Mukuro are going to diverge on this a little but I will just start blabbing cos idk idek.
THERE IS THIS THING ABOUT PHYSICALITY AND TOUCHING which is very whacked out for Mukuro. in canon the only time he touches someone is this really. Well, besides punching. I think he comes close to touching Chikusa when he's hurt but doesn't actually get there. (THIS IS NOT COUNTING Ten Years Later, BECAUSE TYL IS A WHOLE 'NOTHER BAG OF BEANS). But yeah, touching is limited to violent actions.
Mukuro doesn't really "live" in "this world" in a lot of ways. I mean, he does because he is . . . living and so forth. But he holds himself out of it a lot of the time. Because he's an illusionist by trade, nature and personality he has to know exactly what is hardcore reality and what is fabricated. But he also doesn't think this world is "worth" it. He says, "Because I hate this world..." I hate this skill (State of Humans). and then goes on to say "The state of humans is truly the ugliest state." He haaaatttesss this world. I assume this ties back into his touching thing. But also into his sort of loopy mind thinking. He'll touch people if he wants something or can see the profit for it. Intimidation and violence are pretty easy for him to figure out in terms of touch => want. As a kid I assume he was pretty skittish about touch but also capitulated to it if he thought it would get what he wanted. (Mostly in the time he spent with Lancia's family pretending to be an orphan, I assume that he had to accept some form of affectionate touch because it seems like Lancia would roll that way) (Previous to that he was with his family who were terrible people so touch was probably not a big thing unless it was violence being enacted on him).
He doesn't like touch. It makes him kind of uncomfortable. But he also dislikes showing that he's uncomfortable, so I've always played him as someone who will go along with it to sort of hide the fact it really is not what he wants at any given time. And after he reaches a certain level of understanding with a person and such, physicality changes but blah dee blah. THE POINT IS FROM MY READ ON CANON Mukuro is not a very physical person. He doesn't like touch. Interacting with "this world" is something he would rather avoid. I could go on and on about this but I will leave that here COS NOW WE'RE TALKING ABOUT AATHER.
It was mostly the same base for Mukuro. He didn't remember his childhood but he remembered Hell! That kind of sucked! Everything sucks! He is a withdraw sort of person. But he also had all these crazy urges because he is a crazy fucker. Enter Riful! Who also did the violence thing and he thought she was on par with his various negative desires (hrr hrr misread hrr) and he started a thing with her. She sort of paired the "affectionate" touching with the violent touching for him. ANYWAY HIS ALREADY PRETTY CONFUSED EMOTIONAL DESIRES AND EMOTIONAL PATHWAYS were nudged down that association! He was not really liking getting violenced by Riful but he did like violencing her and the whole kissing or whatever else was okay too and together it was just a cocktail for bad...
In Aather Mukuro is really . . . He's trying to figure out a lot of stuff! He doesn't know how to act and he doesn't know people. He doesn't have lifetime(s) of experience. He doesn't have any of his really plotting and scheming down pat. HE'S KIND OF A DUMBSHIT. And he's a dumbshit that can't sort his own emotions! So in a lot of ways he is going from a fucked up base and trying to rebuild his emotional/self centering and stuff.
O GOD OKAY DETOUR FOR FEELINGS. Mukuro's emotional map is kind of totally fucked up. In some ways he sort of just "got rid" of unproductive emotions! He doesn't do anger very well but in some ways that is because he has a lot of rage and has just redirected it to other things. He's terrible at recognizing when he's sad or hurt. Happy is elusive. He's very good at the smugness and aloofness. He has a lot of assertion of control over himself issues and stuff. He doesn't like to be off-kilter so he tries to clamp down on his emotions a lot. The ones he can figure out best are "good" and "bad" which aren't even real emotions so much as like "that felt good" and "that felt bad". If you wear him down enough he'll get to the real emotions but he . . . hates that. IT IS APPROACHING THE HUMAN BITS AND HE HATES HUMANITY/BEING HUMAN/THE HUMAN WORLD/ETC.
He does not feel regret. I think he is probably mostly incapable of feeling regret. More complex secondary emotions (the ones that cue you to social properness) are also the most difficult for him. So pride, shame, dignity, embarrassment blah blah. He sort of pushes himself to sit on a point of absolution and never move from there. BUT HE CAN'T DO THAT ololol.
UH UH WHAT OH RIGHT. Topping. It is funny because while Mukuro is a technical "leader" of Kokuyou and stuff he is not . . . really a leader. He wants things strongly and he gets the loyalty of Kokuyou people but he doesn't have that leader/boss quality I don't think. HE FLOPS AROUND ON HIS COUCH AND DOES SCHEMING. HE TAKES A DETOUR FROM HIS HUGE VENGEANCE PLANS TO BEAT UP SOME KID. He's very scattered a lot of the time. And while like, dominance/control is something he seeks out/seeks to maintain it isn't necessarily a core of him. He tends to maintain control through trickery or putting the other person off more than actually controlling them. He ensures that certain things will happen. uh uh like his relationship with Gil! He could just bully Gil -- and he kind of does bully Gil -- but he also maintains a certain level of "nice" and "unexpected" because he doesn't do that straight out dominance shit. Even in canon when he like BREAKS EVERY BONE IN HIBARI'S BODY -- he then waits before doing anything else. Mukuro has a tendency to get ruled by his whims and compulsion. He also loves playing at the role that gives up control to then later turn the situation. It's a weird bundle of stuff in terms of topping. I GUESSSS if I had to rank him in a strict number sense too he's like a mid/medium tier topper. He doesn't find pure dominance that exciting but losing control issss not what he wants either. He likes games and switching stuff up and being entertained and a bit of this and a bit of that. He's a Gemini :Bb
SEXUALITY ISSSSSSS kind of weird. Canonwise he is pretty unattached to the physical world and spends time in the body of a girl and an owl and other people all the time. I think that probably extends to his view of at least the bodily part of sex. So what he 'wants' goes back more into his desires on topping, being topped, control and what so forth. And if anyone could entertain him/fits his kinks that sort of trumps whatever sex or gender they are. Also he can make himself or other people appear/be whatever he wants in a real/fake way blah blah illusions etc. Soooooo. It's weird. But yes, desires/kinks > other stuff.

So if they left he would just bodyjack them :Db His "bond" with them is sort of huge and absolute in that way. So he doesn't care if so and so is having a relationship with so and so or if they have an orgy or whatever. At the end of the day everyone in Kokuyou is his. HE HAS. SOME POSSESSIVE ISSUES.
Forrr people outside of Kokuyou . . . like. Mukuro doesn't believe in people! He doesn't trust them! He just doesn't. So relationships are weird. He DOES trust Tsuna in some respects and it could probably be proven to him that so and so is trustworthy. But he also looks to undermine his own happiness/reasons why humanity sucks so it would just be a bit manky. ON THE OTHER HAND to prevent seeming like a weak clingy whiner he might just be like WHATEVER SEX EVERYWHERE DO WHAT YOU WANT and then just be an utter bastard about everything. idk if I am dere for amnesia games so much as this particular amnesia game. it is just. paced lovingly and has a community feel and I love all the worldbuildy things and seeing what characters can become. obvs this is all new to me so it's a bit. AJ INVENTED THE MEMORY GAME!!! //// but yeah the way time passes and the games and teams all work for me. it's fun to structure Adachi, Tamaki I care a little less about because he's not too different without his memories. and watching characters who are like "I am not this person who is me" makes me happy, since I love amnesia identity stories (hello, entire reason I watched Dollhouse! and Noir!)
Hmm. - Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games would be interesting because she's such a closed-off person because of her memories, so survival-oriented, and she wouldn't be fond of the idea of "games" at all once she remembers what they mean in her world. She'd be good in Tigers Eye I think. - Buffy Summers is also someone I originally considered because she has this solid core personality, but she would have this huge memorybank and I would totally get to shape her development, and I love her canon. She'd be a knight. - :( idk I am really picky. It's more a "do they fit / will they be dynamic" than "do I love them". Ophelia from Claymore or The Master, maybe, for bonus crazy!
