question meme
You ask me stuff, I ask you stuff in return and it's the circle of life '-' (and then we all get eaten by lions and fertilize the grass blah blah).
I play Acedia/Mukuro and Milady/Alexiel. I used to play Aeris and Pride/Break. And I NPC Beauty, Cheshire, Dream, Three and I did some of Anansi in the last plot!
I'll get to tags tonight or tomorrow I promise *^*
Also a PSA that I'll be on early schedule Fri/Sat and Sun! Back to my normal later schedule on Mon through the rest of the week.

Right now, love is a desire to protect someone either from external threats or himself, and that could easily progress into "protect them no matter the cost"...Which in canon meant giving those he cared for a quick and painless death so they won't suffer later. I don't believe that Selenia will develop that way, as there isn't anything assuring that people must die here, but his ideas of love and protection could easily develop along those lines.
HOW MANY QUESTS DO YOU HAVE, ACEDIA?

Relationship me :D

...BUT NOW AFTER THAT LOST CONVERSATION HE PROBABLY SIGNIFICANTLY DISLIKES HIM MORE, because he flat out said that Selenia was relying too much on his teammates and others. Which is a...very true statement in the way that Selenia doesn't want to deal with. He's been using "Sapphire/Guy is behind me" as a way to assure himself he won't fall down, and also not thinking of the burden or strain he must've placed on the team.
Basically, Selenia's been spreading out the responsibly for Van to other people instead of properly taking that responsibility himself, and then Acedia called him out on it. Not only did he call him out, he also pointed out the fact that if/when Van does become too much, the people who'll suffer most are the ones he's relied on.
So...Selenia now strongly dislikes Acedia, primarily cause he's far too perceptive for comfort.
That and he's a lazy, useless obnoxious brat that can't even make a proper sign. >:T>
...I guess relationship meme me back?

Acedia pretty much just lobs stuff at Selenia to see what bothers him ... ... ... he is in Bully Mode, pretty much. But it's true that some of it isn't personal! He's just that way to a lot of people. It's also true that he generally doesn't care about Selenia's past actions so much as his possible future ones and the impact Selenia has on Dawn by being here \:D/ And it is true that Acedia pretty much believes people who profess themselves to be good will fall. He, in some ways, takes good people and high moral ground as a personal affront and likes to dirty it up.
So it is like one part impersonal bullying fauxiopath and one part personal bullying fauxiopath I guess :|a He wants to continue to bother Selenia, partly for academic reasons~ and partly to keep tabs on him and partly so Selenia knows he's bothering him. Acedia is doing a lot of routing on his feelings on Selenia, so everything is slightly indirect.
Does Selenia have a good grasp on ... what his life became as Van...?

And right noooow...Selenia's understanding of Van is:
-> Guess some terrible thing happened here related to "Hod"
-> Ended up living in the Qliphoth which sucked, but I had my sister and was a good big brother which didn't suck
-> Find Guy at Duke Fabre's, dude who destroyed Hod; revenge vow goes here
-> JOINED THE ORACLE KNIGHTS AT SOME POINT BEFORE THAT. GET FACIAL HAIR LATER. ???. INSTANT POLITICAL SUCCESS.
-> pretty sure something important fits in here but i have no clue???
-> Kill children/replicas and almost get assassinated. Lose a battle cause the Score said so. Be okay-ish with this though bitter still.
-> Guess I made a Luke replica too with the express purpose of killing him for some reason???
-> HATE THE SCORE ENOUGH TO KILL EVERYONE IN THE WORLD INCLUDING THOSE I LOVE AND REPLACE IT AND THEM WITH REPLICAS.
-> Jump off a cliff and die.
So...there's a lot of pieces there that he can extrapolate on some things. Whatever happened at Hod was obviously terrible but he didn't seem to be 'crazy' just yet so that can't be the source of the problem (l-lol........) and all his memories that strike him as crazy seem to happen when he has the Commandant tabard on so. As far as he knows, he disliked the current system of the Oracle Knights, gained power and decided to change it...and then went mad from it. Which isn't too far from the truth, but he's missing a lot of Very Important Key Details which will really affect his viewpoint on things.
He does have enough exposition-related memories on his registry that it shouldn't be too long before pieces begin to really fall into place, at least. But for now it's still "...THERE ARE VITAL PIECES MISSING HERE."
How in-detail does Reborn canon get into, with the whole 'we experimented on our children' thing re: Mukuro and his family?

THIS IS ACTUALLY IT. Mukuro won't talk about it, he actually doesn't give any explanation at all. He's just "I'm going to kill the world, but firs the mafia" and leaves it at this. This is exposition by someone else.
So I 8D; headcanon and make conjectures.
So tell me about Van and human experimentation 8|aa!

Strap a young boy to this thing, charge it with enough power that they'll scream (so, clearly kind of painful), ???, receive hyperresonances and/or replicas! THIS IS ABOUT THE EXTENT OF IT.
Van has been on both sides of this thing, as both the test subject and the one running the tests. There's clearer stuff about what he's done so the rest is headcanon/conjectures etc. What I can figure, he was chosen because the Score said so, the experiments likely ranged from 'okay-ish' to 'OMG PAIN', and then shit went wrong and he lost his entire home...which he found was also the fault of the Score.
He doesn't talk about it, but I can't help but think of what he says to Luke here about a minute in. OBVIOUSLY ALL LIES but it's one that makes me wonder where his ah, inspiration for them came from.
ON THAT NOTE, is Angel Sanctuary worth getting into? 8|a

Tell me about your headcanon/conjectures :3cc

I think the most persistent headcanon I have for Van is that his father was the one who volunteered him as a test subject on Hod, and that Van has despised him for that ever since. And has basically written his existence out of the story whenever he recounts things to Tear. (Tear clearly knows about their mother, and she and Van have a few para-canon scenes where they discuss her. However the only things mentioning Van's father is one skit where Guy mentions him, and a novel excerpt where he talks to his mother on her deathbed about his father and she interrupts him.)
So yeah, Van has Daddy Issues of a sort. >:|>b
Any headcanon/conjectures of your canon characters?

Uhh. I headcanon him as being strongly delusional and also legitimately having a deep schism with reality :|a I have a lot of headcanon about his headspace and how it relates to being an illusionist and his position in the world, etc.
WILL VAN EVER SHAVE THE FACIAL HAIR!!
no subject
I'm actually curious about more of this illusionist thing, if you don't mind delving into that! :D
no subject
When illusionists fight it's all about outdoing the other and has a lot to do with I guess will and power :|a And if an illusionist is tricked by another illusionist's illusion then they lose control of their senses.
So basically Acedia has to be very grounded in what he considers 'real' but also flexible enough to exert absolute belief in his own illusions to be a competent illusionist :|a
So the line between 'reality' and 'illusion' is very important to him as well as personal illusion / delusion / 'truth'. It's a bad bundle to have while also crazy I guess :|a
Van and Selenia meet at a bar, how awkward is the meeting?
