I play Acedia/Mukuro and Milady/Alexiel. I used to play Aeris and Pride/Break. And I NPC Beauty, Cheshire, Dream, Three and I did some of Anansi in the last plot!

Strap a young boy to this thing, charge it with enough power that they'll scream (so, clearly kind of painful), ???, receive hyperresonances and/or replicas! THIS IS ABOUT THE EXTENT OF IT.

Van has been on both sides of this thing, as both the test subject and the one running the tests. There's clearer stuff about what he's done so the rest is headcanon/conjectures etc. What I can figure, he was chosen because the Score said so, the experiments likely ranged from 'okay-ish' to 'OMG PAIN', and then shit went wrong and he lost his entire home...which he found was also the fault of the Score.

He doesn't talk about it, but I can't help but think of what he says to Luke here about a minute in. OBVIOUSLY ALL LIES but it's one that makes me wonder where his ah, inspiration for them came from.

ON THAT NOTE, is Angel Sanctuary worth getting into? 8|a

I think so :|a IT'S . . . VERY KAORI YUKI so kind of fucked up and shoujo but also dark and idk has a lot of interesting characters. The plot gets a bit "k...kaori yuki..." sometimes but I really like it. I do find it kind of a slow build though :|a

Good for a slow day, then.

I think the most persistent headcanon I have for Van is that his father was the one who volunteered him as a test subject on Hod, and that Van has despised him for that ever since. And has basically written his existence out of the story whenever he recounts things to Tear. (Tear clearly knows about their mother, and she and Van have a few para-canon scenes where they discuss her. However the only things mentioning Van's father is one skit where Guy mentions him, and a novel excerpt where he talks to his mother on her deathbed about his father and she interrupts him.)

So yeah, Van has Daddy Issues of a sort. >:|>b

Any headcanon/conjectures of your canon characters?

I HAVE A LOT do you have a specific area you're interested in?

Not sure I know a lot about your specific canons to get a good jumping point buuuut. Something related to Mukuro's past I suppose?

I headcanon that he doesn't really know his family and was sort of "born into" the human experimentation. It might have been pointed out to him at some point and time, but he lacks a normal understanding of family units. He was also a withdrawn and relatively compliant child who kind of made his way towards anger. Uhh for Aather I've headcanoned him actually having gone to Hell (it was his first memory!) and that strongly contributed to him moving towards hating everything.

Uhh. I headcanon him as being strongly delusional and also legitimately having a deep schism with reality :|a I have a lot of headcanon about his headspace and how it relates to being an illusionist and his position in the world, etc.

...SOB. It's...not something that is entirely impossible, no. IF HE HAD TO, HE WOULD DO SO. But it would cause him great emotional pain. And me as well, if it were permanent, as I'd have to photoshop over 80 icons. 8(

I'm actually curious about more of this illusionist thing, if you don't mind delving into that! :D

OK So reborn illusions are kind of lol but! Illusions are more or less something that 'deceives the senses' and cause effects. So like 'illusion a column of fire' if the person believes it then they'll get burned. Reborn illusions can also just be really weird and sometimes m...more than they should be (like Mukuro illusions a set of functioning organs for someone so idk my bff illusions).

When illusionists fight it's all about outdoing the other and has a lot to do with I guess will and power :|a And if an illusionist is tricked by another illusionist's illusion then they lose control of their senses.

So basically Acedia has to be very grounded in what he considers 'real' but also flexible enough to exert absolute belief in his own illusions to be a competent illusionist :|a

So the line between 'reality' and 'illusion' is very important to him as well as personal illusion / delusion / 'truth'. It's a bad bundle to have while also crazy I guess :|a
