[ The door of the shack is difficult to open. It looks like the lock is frozen shut. ]

[ IT TAKES A FEW KICKS . . . You finally get inside. Man it's cold! Even inside the shack it isn't that much warmer, but at least you're not getting snowed on. It's dim inside the shack. You can make out a table to the immediate left of the door, a pile of neatly folded clean blankets in the far corner of the shack -- the floor of the shack is slightly sticky, but at least it isn't the ice. There's also a rather large trunk, with a large padlock on the same side of the shack as the blankets. ]

Then going to look if there's anything on the table.]

[ On the table are some candles and matches and a pile of fingerbones. Everything is frozen to the tabletop. ]

[prying up one of the fingerbones . . . :|a]

[ When you do so . . . You're suddenly in a room? It looks a bit like a grungy hospital room or decaying scientist's lab. There are children sitting on one side -- everyone is too afraid to speak with each other. A group of men in suits are conferring with each other and then one loads a bullet into a gun. He shoots one of the children in the room with you. The kid just dies. The men confer some more. Then the man with the gun loads another bullet (a different color, and you know he's hoping for a different result). He shoots another kid. This one is suddenly on fire and dies screaming. Then you're back in the shack. ]

[holy shit what. Prying up another fingerbone, to see whether something similar would happen to give a bit more context . . .]

[ Another memory! A kid shot with a bazooka. . . and of course, he died. Who doesn't die when being shot by a bazooka. ]

[are all of these about death . . . let's take a break from 'em to go and see if I can use a fingerbone to get that padlock open.]

[ yes they are . . . how good at picking locks are you? ]

[AMATEUR . . . but quite determined . . . ]

[ IF YOU WORK HARD ENOUGH YOU CAN GET IT OPEN. . . Inside the trunk is a slightly smaller trunk. This trunk isn't locked, but barbed wire is wrapped around the latch. Do be careful. ]

[. . . hfffff. Picking gently at the barbed wire to get it away from the latch.]

Bloody ridiculous . . .

[ Inside this trunk is another slightly smaller trunk. This trunk looks like it's covered in sandpaper. It'll scrape up your hands. And the lid is extremely heavy, it might take more than one person to open.

Also, when you get to this trunk there's a click and a second door appears on the wall. This door has a bullet carved into the door. ]

[ You can see that there is a much much younger looking Acedia sleeping inside. ]
