It is especially hard because Mukuro isss pretty pos-neutral with Oz! But what happens from there really is in Oz's court because Mukuro is content to not actually get along with people but still consider them part of his team and whatever.

But Mukuro is a paranoid slightly (...) sociopathic.... person... with issues. So it is never going to be easy.

Mostly it seems like Oz is trying too hard, to me XD Mukuro reads Oz as desperate and weak often. Which doesn't bother him cos Oz is Ruby, but he reacts accordingly. He also has no idea what Oz wants from him which means he tends to give very neutral reactions as well. Cos. Yeah.

Mostly Oz just does not know how to cope with Mukuro. He gets that there's no longer any real danger involved because yaay he's a teammate but I think he's mostly trying to wrap his mind around Mukuro's twisted idea of team and how he cares about people. Because it's really clear to Oz that he does care about Luke and Dera, but essentially he just doesn't know how to slot himself in...as far as Mukuro's concerned. IDK it is weird stuff to do with belonging and comfort and he does generally feel uneasy around Mukuro because of what happened and the fact that Mukuro is still kind of crazy and exceptions have to be made for him. Mostly he wants things to strike a certain level of comfort so he feels like he can know when Mukuro's going to respond negatively and just avoid that from the get go. If that makes any sense...

OZ IIIS....in an okay place. He's actually got a lot of quests going which gives him something productive to do and since most of them are for other people he's feeling pretty good about finishing them. He's learning how to fight from Sion which is also great because he does have moments of feeling kind of powerless in the face of monsters and dangerous games. So that is improving! He's also kind of gotten his hormones sorted out because for a while there they were hilarious and going everywhere. :Da But now he is determined that one of these days he is having Sex With Gilbert Nightray and they will both like it and it will be great. He just needs to learn himself some gay sex before that. :B He also really likes Celty and Yukio and they seem to get along well with him too which is a great plus because yay no longer failing at people. Though he does...still feel like he's failing at Ruby because lolo Reborn characters. How does I get you jerks. o9"

But yeah in general Oz is kind of in a chill place. IDK how this will change since he has nasty memories that I haven't gotten around to having him taken yet. lolo /o/

Oz needing to define his spaces! To clear out a certain amount of predictability within his circle. His previous issues with Gil... OZ SEEMS TO NEED TO PIN THINGS INTO CATEGORIES VERY SPECIFICALLY so he can have a reaction response plan ... in essence it seems fit everyone into particular scripts so he cannn have control of either prediction or action in any given situation...?

I think it's less about controlling the situation than it is about a sense of belonging and comfort. He predicts people's responses and kind of fits them into these categories not so that he can control them so much as he can slot himself in? Like he needs that sense of self in terms of where he stands with a person or in a given argument, how he's presenting himself and how they're taking it. He wants to be someone people can trust and rely on so when he's reading he's reading so he can respond in a way that will help whoever he's interacting with.

SO I MEAN it's not so much about control as it is about his weird social interactions and fitting in?

He doesn't have an internal morality scale. He has things that are personally profitable and personally not profitable. He can approximate other people's morality scales if it helps him get what he wants (IE NOT GETTING IN TROUBLE). Moekuro does have a few things he feels "bad" about but they are intrinsically tied to other people's reactions and not an internal "that was bad".

TELL ME ABOUT OZ'S MORALS.

Oz has a pretty good moral compass, I think! Even in games, he doesn't want to hurt other people unless it's absolutely necessary. WHICH ACTUALLY MAKES HIM HARD TO PLAY IN HEART GAMES because he gets really uncomfortable about the thought of changing people without their consent. He is working on his urge to self-sacrifice a little bit but in general Oz has a very strong sense of what's wrong and what's right and he tries to follow through on it. He's even gotten pretty good about not lying to people when it comes to personal questions. :|a

The problem is just that sometimes in games this rubs up really hard against what the rest of Ruby decides so he swallows his pride and lumps it. :B

OZ NEEDS REASSURANCE THAT IF HE STANDS UP FOR HIMSELF IN THE FACE OF HIS TEAM IT'S NOT GOING TO BLOW UP AGAIN. Because he does not want to fuck Ruby up! But he does feel like an outlier on the general Ruby moral compass. Because while Mukuro's the only non-moral facet, Konatsu and Dera have their priorities in different places. Things like that. :|a

LIKE I SAID IN THE MORALITY THING Oz doesn't like hurting other people and he is in general more of a feeler-type. So he's going to opt for more interpersonal connections and options in game whereas the rest of the team seems to have more of a "get it done" type of attitude? That sort of thing. Like how in Mal's game they went for hard work over compassion.
