RUBY IS LITERALLY MUKURO'S MOST IMPORTANT THING. But the way Mukuro is is likeeee. He is protective of Ruby but he is also very like whatever you want to do and however you want to be too. You see that in how he deals with Kokuyou too. Once someone is his he might like be a little domineering sometimes but he doesn't try to ruin or change anyone because THEY ARE HIS AND THEY ARE FINE HOW THEY ARE HE BLAH BLAH. Like how he was pretty much just ok with Jacuzzi being a crybaby all the time once he figured out that was just how Jacuzzi was and whatever. There are some levels he is just like NO YOU CANNOT DO THAT but that is also just. Him. Making decisions for others cos he. Does that.
Mukuro is unconditionally accepting of Ruby \:D/. Even if they are useless or dislike him. He issss that way naturally but the dislike thing was pretty hard until he just was like. WELL FUCK THAT. I DON'T CARE IF THEY DON'T LIKE ME, THEY ARE MINE ANYWAY. And swallowed those feelings like a winner. So now they just dun matter (e-e...except dera...).
buh buh individual ruby is also important now. Dera is MOST IMPORTANT cos he is still Mukuro's pin of everything good \:D/ and where most of Acedia is tied. Luke is the boyfriend and also the one who works the hardest at making Acedia suck less. Konatsu is actually really important now because every time he reams Acedia there is a like. . . . like if Dera and Konatsu and Luke didn't each provide their own like stop being a fuck up, acedia!11 he would . . . not be able to progress as much because they all offer it at different levels so it is actually super effective in trifecta :'D;;;
Celty issss. . . he doesn't have much of an opinion yet cos he was avoiding her :'D and Yukio does really well. Cos he brings up a bit of lightheartedness in Mukuro (e...even tho it is terrible cos it is Mukuro). . . . idk about oz yet, he's still not winning the acedia game.
IN GENERAL RUBY IS LIKE THE BEST THING EVER FOR ACEDIA? It's hard because he is soooo all over and wishy washy and crazy and terrible. But unless something majorly terrible happens he will probably continue his path forwards to being an real person.

It's complicated yet not. Konatsu doesn't hate Acedia and . . . doesn't dislike him--? Well he kind of does? COMPLICATED! He both likes and dislikes him at the same time. He doesn't trust him at all because he sees no reason to. Like, when he talks to Dera and Luke about it, he gets a lot of the same things, which are along the lines of "He'd never hurt Ruby," "He hasn't done anything as bad as X in a while now," "He's getting better," "He wouldn't have done it if he'd known it was THAT bad," and so on. But Konatsu doesn't see any evidence for these things, so he frankly doesn't believe them. Acedia only hasn't raped anyone else THAT THEY KNOW OF! They didn't know about Gil until 2-3 weeks later (which Konatsu also REALLY doesn't think is long enough for a rapist to. "reform")! He only hasn't murdered anyone in Aather THAT THEY KNOW OF! And then Acedia will actually tell him things like "I can't promise not to hurt people" and "If Wrath left me I'd give up on being Acedia" and while Luke and Dera call those bluffs and insist Acedia loves Ruby too much to hurt them, Konatsu feels it's their responsibility as a team to take those threats seriously, the way one always takes a bomb threat seriously just in case. He knows Acedia is a liar but there are some issues where you have to take a person at their word or else you're endangering others.
But he does think Acedia at least WANTS to change, SOMETIMES, now. Before their long epic thread, he didn't, and he'd totally lost faith in him and kind of wished they could kill him to just. End the threat. But that talk convinced Konatsu that Acedia does want to change himself, he just really sucks at it and it's hard. And that's stuff Konatsu can sympathize with. In fact he can sympathize with a lot of Acedia's feelings because he's had issues himself of wondering whether it's actually worth it to try to be a good man, and whether it's not easier to just give in to the part of him that's fine with being a cold killer. In fact he knows it IS easier. So he can't fault Acedia for failing sometimes--but he can't forgive him for it or give him a pass on it either, if that makes sense. He'll hold Acedia fully responsible for every mistake he makes, and "trying" isn't good enough when people get hurt--but it does count for more than not trying, because it's the difference between being capable of reform and being an animal who needs to be taken out and shot.
Konatsu pretty much judges people in Aather based not on how "good" they are, which he honestly doesn't care much about/think is even a real concept except when it applies to him being terrible, but on how dangerous they are. He doesn't give a shit that Luke killed 10,000 people or that Dusk was once Asch the Bloody or that Yukio's dad is Satan because they're not dangerous! But Acedia is. That's why he's all like "Yeah I don't care if you fantasize all day about killing people, JUST DON'T DO IT FOR REAL." He wants Acedia to be happy with himself both because he cares for him and because he thinks it will make him less dangerous, but other than wanting Acedia's happiness, he is not at all invested in Acedia becoming "better" as a person, so long as he becomes less dangerous as a person. We live in this community together, you dick. Keep assaulting people and eventually Ruby's going to pay for it and/or you're going to destroy someone I love, and then you're opening a can of worms you don't want to get into. :D
Like I said though he doesn't dislike him (always) and sometimes he actually does like him. Acedia SOMETIMES MAKES HIM FEEL BETTER AND WORK OUT HIS OWN PROBLEMS by being a foil and also someone he can talk to about his ~darkness~ and so yeah. He doesn't consider them friends really but he does still care for Acedia; he just is never going to let that care blind him to anything terrible Acedia does.

So in a way this is beettterrrr than being his friend. To him. Anyway? Like friendship is sort of malleable and breakable but this pretty much ensures Konatsu in the Ruby part of his world view soooo. It'sss .. . good? But also kind of weird because it means Mukuro doesn't give two fucks about friendship. But since Konatsu has that like BE ACCOUNTABLE, DICKBAG it sort of beings he'll try to meet that. Acedia tends to give as good as people expect of him ttoooo an extent.
SO I GUESS ACEDIA HAS HILARIOUSLY SIMPLE THOUGHTS \:D/ and Konatsu kind of barreled into being able to make him feel bad for being a dickbag. Well ok no it isn't "I feel bad because I am a dickbag" so much as "Konatsu will be mad at me when I am a dickbag" which is more effective than when Luke is mad at him but less effective than when Dera is mad at him :|a Also he does feel like his relationship with Konatsu is more tenuous but after placing him in the mental landscape he cares far less :'D;;; sort of. Ish.
Is Konatsu aware of the parts of like. Issues and lolbackstory. that Ruby seem to share.
