I'm not sure about what to say that wasn't already in the app...! And especially knowing that you might read the trilogy someday and what do I want to spoil, haha. His first appearance is getting vomited out of another character, though??? Just thinking about that paragraph makes me giggle.
In Aather! He's in an ungood place right now but better than he could be. He's identified Nahadoth as brother and lover, Yeine as enemy and lover, and knows that Naha hates him and he personally hates Yeine and sees her as incredibly dangerous (OR DOES HE stupid sexy Yeine). He knows that he did something terrible in the past to Nahadoth and Sieh, but only has a hint that it had something to do with imprisoning Naha. So there's "...oh... the person I care about wants to rip my spleen out..." This is kind of related to why Chesh piques his interest? "Find out why Naha and the cat child associated with Naha hate me."
At the same time, he doesn't have a replacement for living-emotional-crutch Naha, and Tempa is someone who REALLY needs a constant person to rely on. So he's miserable on the no-one-loves-me front and blah on the no-one-to-rely-on front, while at the same time he knows he's not supposed to like humans so he doesn't want to form strong bonds with any of the people in Aather.
Despite all this internalized misery, pride is a major factor of his personality and he thinks he is better than everyone else hahaha stupid people. /o/\o\ He can be passed out in a dumpster and still be scornful as heeeeeeeeeeeell. So he's not going to make friends and people to rely on either hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Oh man. Possibly I'm playing him too nice, but I think I can justify it because he has no memory of crazy priestess Shahar. Still, he doesn't really consider anyone all that important besides Nii, who he thinks is the smartest and least obnoxious person on Carnelian and who he will continue to mooch information off of for a while. If I had to break down his feelings on Carnelian it would be:
I knew he would be difficult for a team to deal with before I apped. :\ I considered apping him as a knight for a while except that he would have just starved to death in his room repeatedly.
