Itachi loves Emeralds. :x He seriously is very fond of his team and they are generally a good influence on him. His feelings toward Emerald are similar to his feelings for Konoha in canon, I guess, in terms of love and loyalty. With the added bonus that Emerald wouldn't ask him to do something like kill his family. So it works out really well. :T
