OKAY SO BASICALLY Mitchell has a pretty huge thing about being willing to kill to prevent more people from being hurt. It's what he died for too! (twice!) And Dream pings that like whoa. He had a conversation with Knife a while back which meant he no longer has a problem with her liking Dream and he understands that Dream doesn't know what he's doing and can't be held responsible for his actions and all that, but it doesn't change the fact that Dream is causing people to be hurt in unknown permanent ways and can't seem to stop himself. So as far as Mitchell's concerned Dream needs to die to protect everyone else from being hurt by him like that.

The one thing that can and might hold him back from trying it is his team. He won't do it if his teammates tell him not to because he values their opinion of him more than killing Dream right now :|a He would also feel super awful about losing Knife's friendship over it and would hesitate pretty strongly about it if it meant that, but he's no longer half as reliant as he was on her for a while there.
